6th National Conference on Earthquake Engineering and
2nd National Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology
14 – 17 June, 2017
The 6th National Conference on Earthquake Engineering and the 2nd National Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology - 6CNIS & 2CNISS, will take place on June 14-17, 2017 in Bucharest - Romania, at the Technical University of Civil Engineering. The previous National Conferences were hosted by the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest in 1997, 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2014.
The 6CNIS & 2CNISS will offer a stimulating and challenging environment for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience. The organizers invite scientists, engineers, contractors, urban planners and policy officials to participate in this event. Renowned international scholars in the fields of seismology and earthquake engineering will provide keynote lectures in the plenary sessions of 6CNIS & 2CNISS.
The papers accepted by the International Advisory Committee and Scientific Committee will be published in the Conference Proceedings; authors of the accepted papers will present their contribution in the Symposium.

1. Seismicity of Romania; physics of seismic sources; lithosphere structure and dynamics; processing of seismic data; seismic hazard assessment; earthquake monitoring and early warning
2. Geotechnical earthquake engineering; site effects
3. Design regulations; structural analysis, performance based-design, seismic evaluation and rehabilitation
4. Seismic behaviour of engineering structures and of transportation networks and lifelines
5. Seismic risk evaluation and management of emergency situations
6. Workshop "40 years from March 4, 1977 Vrancea earthquake"
7. Workshop "BIGSEES - BrIdging the Gap between Seismology and Earthquake Engineering: from the seismicity of Romania towards a refined implementation of Seismic action EN1998-1 in earthquake resistant design of buildings"
8. Workshop “RO-RISK – Disaster risk assessment at national level”

Important dates:
Abstracts (in English language, including the authors names, affiliation and contact e-mail, with a text of maximum 300 words, .doc file) should be sent until January 9, 2017 on one of the conference e-mails: [email protected] or [email protected]. The acceptance notice will be sent by 28.02.2017.
The accepted papers will be sent in .doc and .pdf formats at the same conference e-mails ([email protected] or [email protected]) for publication in the Conference proceedings by April 15, 2017. Papers will be in English and will have a maximum length of 8 pages.
